Going to Anime Central 2012?

Interested in making a little money or getting merchandise? 

Anime Sekai is looking for volunteers for the weekend to help run our booth in the Dealer's Room.

If you are outgoing, friendly, diligent, and love anime, we want your help!

 

*** What do I get for helping? ***

Our wage is $10.00 per hour or $12.00 of Anime Sekai store credit per hour.

Anime Sekai will pay you on an hourly basis.

You will be paid at the end of your shift. If you want merchandise, you will have to wait until the close of the Dealer's room that day to browse and find stuff that you want.

You can choose to get paid some in cash and some in store credit if you wish, free to mix and match however you want.

For example, if you work for 10 hours you can be paid $100 in cash or with $120 worth of merchandise. Or, $50 in cash and $60 in merchandise.

 

*** How long do I have to work for? *** 

We understand that the main reason for coming to Anime Central is to enjoy yourself and we won't ask you to work the entire weekend away. 

You must be willing to work at least two shifts. ( IE. 3pm - 7pm Friday would be one shift )

Of course, the more you work, the more you will get compensated.

 

*** What work do I have to do? ***

There are two different jobs available. We will supply you with a dealer's badge while you are working with us. (You won't be able to keep the badge though.)

This will get you into the Dealer's room each morning before it is open for setup, and after it is closed for breakdown on Sunday.

 

1. Setup and Breakdown

Thursday	12pm - 4pm
Thursday	4pm - 8pm
Sunday	4pm - 8pm

Setup/Breakdown duties include:

Unloading/loading boxes from/into our van.

Unpacking and displaying merchandise. This includes building figures, hanging posters, displaying mugs, etc. 

You must be careful with the merchandise, a lot of it is fragile.

Assisting in setting up Grid Walls and other display related furniture.

There are a lot of small things to do and they are all simple. 

***You must be able to lift boxes/objects that weigh 40 pounds. If you have a bad back or are easily injured, please do not apply.

 

2. Sales

Saturday	10am - 2:30pm
Saturday	2:30pm - 6:30pm
Sunday	10am - 3pm

 Sales duties include:

Dealing directly with the customer, helping them find what they need and answering questions.

Overall, just watching over the area where you are stationed.

We will be there to help you, so you don't need to feel pressured or feel like you are going to mess up.

 

 *** Are there any requirements? ***

You must be 18 years of age or older.

This cannot be your first time at an anime convention.

You don't need any kind of work experience, but if you have held a job in customer service or retail, that is helpful.

You will be dealing with customers so you must be polite and courteous.
