Q: Where are the Terms and Conditions and what do they mean?

A: The Terms and Conditions can be found here. This is basically another FAQ with details about a few legally required items. Basically, it is our casual version of fine print. There isn't really anything tricky in there. Being a retail store, we have to have our policies out and open to the public. For instance, we must state that we will not give your email address or any other personal details to anyone. Please take a look through it as you will find some helpful information.

Q: What is your return/refund policy?

All sales are final. Please contact us if you have any problems or concerns with your order.

Why don't we accept refunds? We sell collectible items. Most of these need to be opened and put together. Once an item's packaging is cut open and the item is assembled, we can no longer sell it as a collectible item as it has lost a lot of its value to hobbyists. We apologize for not being able to have an open ended return policy. Please email us if you have any questions about this. We will work with anyone who has a problem with their order.

We will not accept returns for refunds or exchanges unless any of the following conditions are true:

1.    We made a mistake on the order.
2.    Manufacturer defects - to be explained below.

In the case of a return, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
All items must be returned in their original boxes and in original condition.

Anime Sekai is not responsible for damage or loss during return shipping. Customer is advised to use a trackable form of shipping with insurance.

If a product has manufacturing defects, Anime Sekai will provide a replacement free of charge, after the items have been returned and inspected. In the case that a replacement is not possible, a full refund will be issued, less shipping costs.

Customers are advised to take photographs of any suspected defects or damage prior to opening.

Manufacturer defects include, but are not limited to:

1.   Duplicate parts - IE. a figure comes with two left arms instead of a left arm and a right arm.
2.   Missing parts - IE. a figure comes with no left leg.

Manufacturer defects DO NOT include, but are not limited to:

1.   Paint and color discrepancies.
2.   Inability to assemble a figure - pieces too tight / loose.

Please contact us if you have a question regarding the quality of a product.

Customers must contact us about any claims for refunds or replacements within 7 days of delivery date.

 

Q: I don't want to pay online, can I mail a check or a money order?

A: Yes, we do accept personal checks, cashier's checks and money orders.

If you wish to mail in your payment, you may select the Check / Money Order option at check out.

Our store uses real-time inventory tracking. This means that when someone successfully pays for an item, if it is the last item, then it will automatically be marked out of stock on our website.

When you place your order, and choose to mail your payment, your items will be reserved for 7 business days. If we have not received payment after these 7 business days, your items will become available for someone else to purchase.

In this case, if the items are out of stock when we receive your payment, we will have to send your payment back or ask if you want any other items.

Please mail your payment as soon as possible. If you need more time to send payment, or if you want to inform us that payment has been mailed so that we can reserve your items longer, please send us an email at info@animesekai.com.

To ensure that you receive the items you want, choose one of the other instant payment methods like PayPal or Credit Card.

 

Q: What do all of the different stock statuses mean? 

A: There are 6 different statuses that an item can have.

- In Stock - Items that are in-stock and can ship within 24-48 hours.

- Coming Soon - These are new items that are arriving shortly and can be ordered now, they can ship within a few weeks. A more precise time frame will be given if possible.

- Backordered - Typically, these are items that have sold out and are being restocked. They can be ordered now and will ship when they arrive.

- Pre-Order - Items not yet released. They cannot be ordered yet but you can add the item to your watch list to be notified when it is in stock. Pre-Orders will have an estimated arrival date given.

- Special Order - These items can ship within a few weeks from the time of the order, they are not kept in stock but are still available.

- Out of Stock - Most of the time, out of stock items are also discontinued. We keep them on the website for reference. Occasionally, they can be restocked, so you can add the item to your watch list and an email will be sent when the item is available.

Q: What do does it mean to 'Watch an Item' ? 

A: You may add any item, that is not in stock, to your watched items list. When this item becomes available, we will send out an email to notify you that the item is in stock. You can manage all of your watched items from the My Account area. You must be a registered customer to use this feature.

 

Q: Do you have a store with a showroom?

A: Not at the moment. We are only selling online and at anime conventions. We may pursue a storefront in the future, but for now, please check our Convention Schedule to find out where we will be next.

 

Q: How long does it take for an order to get processed and shipped?

A: Orders will ship within 1-2 business days of the time they are placed and paid for. However, there may be some delays if the order is placed during a convention that we are attending. In this case, the order will not be shipped until after we return. Special circumstances, such as the request for overnight delivery, will be processed before other orders to ensure they go out as soon as possible.

Please email us before you place your order if you have special circumstances that must be met regarding delivery.

USPS Priority Mail - 2-3 business days - based on location
USPS Express Mail - 1 business day
FedEx Ground - 1-7 business days - based on location
FedEx Express Saver - 3 business days
FedEx 2nd day Air - 2 business days
FedEx Next Day Air Saver - 1 business day - delivered before 4:30pm

International Shipping Services Include:
USPS Express Mail International (EMS) - 5 business days
USPS Priority Mail International - 6-10 business days
USPS First Class Mail International - 7-15 business days - no tracking information is available.

All shipping methods have tracking numbers available, with the exception of First Class Mail International. These will be provided within 24 hours of the ship date.

 

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Yes, we ship worldwide. When you are viewing your shopping cart, the shipping calculator will use your delivery address and automatically give you a price for shipping. We use the United States Postal Service for all of our international shipping needs. If you have any special requirements for shipping, feel free to send us an email.

 

Q: I don't like buying merchandise online, are all of these items available at conventions as well?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot bring all of our inventory to each convention. More often than not, the items at conventions will be only the newest products we have and sometimes these items will appear at conventions before they are available on our website. If you see an item on our website that you wish to buy but do not want to purchase it online, please send us an email at sales@animesekai.com. We will try to work it out with you and bring the item to our next convention and you can pick it up there. 

 

 Q: What are the Wish List and Gift Registry for?

A: You can add individual items to your Wish List and Gift Registry. Once you have added items, you get a public link that you can send to your friends and family. This link will take them to an online version of your Wish List or Gift Registry where they can see the items that you want and get links directly to those items. You can associate special events such as birthdays or wedding dates with these lists. For example, if your birthday is coming up, and you add an item to your Gift Registry, you can request (1) of that item. If someone purchases that item from your registry, the quantity requested will go down so that people do not purchase more of an item than you actually want. You can use both your Wish List and your Gift Registry in this way.

Wish Lists are also commonly used as a way of keeping track of items that you are interested in but may want to purchase later. It is also used as an easy way to show your friends an entire list of items that you are interested in.

 

Q: Why should I sign up for the email newsletter?

A: Our newsletter is a way for us to communicate to our customers whenever we update our website or have new promotions. This will include sales on particular items or categories, including coupon codes that are exclusive to our subscribers. You will also be informed of our latest products as soon as they are released. Typically, we will send out one or two emails a month. This is a strictly email newsletter, you will not get anything in the mail. Oh, and we will not give your information to anybody else.

 

Q: What is an RSS Feed? Will I get spam if I subscribe?

A: RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It is a web feed that is used to keep track of updates on frequently updated sites, such as blogs or news. An RSS feed will automatically display the most recent updates. There are many different ways to subscribe to an RSS. If you have an RSS-capable browser ( which you probably do ) you can add the feed as Live Bookmarks. These are just like normal bookmarks, except that they will change when the site is updated. You can also use a mail service such as Yahoo, Google, or Microsoft Outlook to subscribe to feeds. You will not actually get emails about updates, you will just have access to the latest updates, when you want to view them, so don't worry about being flooded by emails. You can also unsubscribe at any time.

In the case of this site, our RSS feed displays our 50 most recent product additions. We update frequently, but not on any scheduled basis, so having a feed to our site would be helpful if you want to keep track of our latest updates.
